Co-sponsored by University of Colorado at Boulder, The Afghan Student Union and Afghans4Tomorrow. LIVE MUSIC by Fardeen Aqmal and his brothers Khushal and Fahim, musicians from LA area of CA, who will sing both modern and classic Afghan songs in Dari and Pashto. The Keynote address will be given by ASU founder John Ali Sharza.
A short presentation will also be given by A4T Board Members Bernard Amadei and Marsha MacColl. Inspired by the book The Kite Runner, Hillsdale High juniors are putting on a children's festival, geared toward pre-school and elementary age children, to benefit the Janet/Afghans4Tomorrow school for girls in Kabul. Activities include: kite-making and kite-flying, games, arts and crafts, food, a bouncy house, students reading children's books to little kids to promote literacy - all making this a great annual event.

When: Sunday, April 19th, at 11:10 am Where: Westminster Presbyterian Church 240 Tiburon Boulevard, Tiburon You are invited to come hear about Phil's recent two-week trip with the Bare Roots Group to plant 6,000 tree saplings in Afghanistan. Come hear his stories and see photos of their adventures.
Phil is a long-time supporter of the nonprofit Afghans4Tomorrow.
Since 2005 over 125,000 tree saplings have been planted or distributed during the four trips of the Bare Roots Group, led by its co-founder Asma Eschen, a Board Member of the A4T. Burlingame United Methodist Church`s annual Alternative Christmas Faire Saturday, November 22, 9:00 1:00 pm Burlingame, California The faire will include embroidered Afghan Crafts and Clothing made by our A4T students in Kabul. The photographs exhibited are from the summer of 2006, and are part of a collection of portraits of everyday life in Kabul, Afghanistan. Photographer, teacher and Afghans4Tomorrow (A4T) member, Jeff Symanski volunteered to teach in 2006 at two A4T schools in Kabul. He taught in Kabul again in July 2008 at our A4T School #1. The public is welcome to select from a wide variety of `gifts` needed by any of the 10 non-profit organizations. The Westminster Church Men's Group is sponsoring A4T and 'Classrooms Across Cultures'. At the booth shoppers can purchase "gifts" starting from $2 to any amount for textbooks, school supplies, etc. Christmas cards can be personalized by a calligrapher at the Faire for the shopper with a note about the gift that has been given in their loved one's honor. Saturday, October 6, 2007, from 4-7 PM in San Francisco, CA Tuber Creations is pleased to announce Connecting Worlds, a special event benefiting Afghans4Tomorrow and First Exposures, to be held at El Rio in San Francisco`s Mission District. All proceeds will go to First Exposures and Afghans4Tomorrow, two Bay Area based non-profit organizations dedicated to creating positive change in our own backyard and on the other side of the globe.
Connecting Worlds is a special benefit with music by Chemystry Set and friends, showcasing the work of these organizations through a photographic presentation and more. It was conceived by San Francisco writer, musician and producer Sven Eberlein, who envisioned his 40th birthday to be a catalyst for bringing together and supporting meaningful causes.

Roaming around the deserts of Arabia, this mystic jester brought humor to the Sufi tradition and life to stoicism. His stories appear in literature and oral traditions from nations in the Middle East to China.
