This World Vision Report, by Will Everett, was aired in March, 2010. The curriculum of the schools is approved by the Ministry of Education. Our A4T school in Kabul is one of the best schools in Afghanistan in regards to the low student-teacher ratio and students attending all required academic classes plus vocational training and PE. Teaching quality is very good, because teachers are hand selected by A4T professionals, and A4T members and our Country Director constantly review the schools to make sure everything is in order.
Teacher training seminars given by volunteers have also improved the quality of A4T teachers.
Our schools are provided with most basic supplies, however, a big problem is a lack of textbooks and need for more school supplies and computers. Overall, A4T schools in Afghanistan have yielded very beneficial results, and have made an impact to help further the development of Afghanistan's educational system. Other Education Dept. Accomplishments The Graduate Resource Center at Kabul Education University received 1,200 volumes of books on Oct. 20, 2008 thanks to a generous donation from A4T and Ground Zero for Peace. The books are mainly in education and in Farsi. They will help graduate students and faculty to conduct research. Students, professors, and the Ministry of Higher Education appreciated A4T's effort toward the reconstruction of the country.
